there has been some discussion amongst my circle of friends as when a bowl is actually finished. i'm a cheap ass, i'll keep smoking till nothing comes out, i don't care if the smoke is a bit blue or not as long as the ashes are all white. some people think when you are done puffing and no smoke comes off the bowl it's done. my one friend says if it falls out of the pipe it's done...

edit: sometimes this happens prematurely though and you just need to stir the bowl up a little to get to some fresh nugs

I like to use the sharp point of the cap of a bic pen to stir the bowl to keep everything fresh, that way no one ever hits a ton of ash.

well i frequent value village and different thrift stores to find shit i can make to smoke out of or accompany my getting high

i like finding little round things that i can epoxy a cork into and shove a big safety pin into so you have an ashtray/bowl stir/tapper so you dont tap your glass on something that has potential to break your piece

if you don't pack your weed down much, just fill the bowl nicely like you should, I find that it usually burns down to ash nicely and you can tell when nothing is actually burning without usually needing to stir. at that point all that's left should be ash that taps out easily (or sometimes just falls out when you turn the pipe upside down).

i can see the arts of treating your bud properly and not being retarded are generally lost in this crowd.

Sorry, I don't smoke exactly the way you do, but usually when I am smoking it's with at least several people, so I like to pack a decent sized bowl so it can go around longer.

seriously, taking personals of ground herb doesnt get me high enough and seems like it eats my toms faster

I was thinking about getting a grinder cause the shake always burns better. I haven't had any problems with it not getting me high enough either.

Not to mention but the nuggets are harder to smoke in a really small bowl because you cant put as many in there or else it will block off the air hole entirely. With shake you dont have to worry as much because the air circulates through it much easier, not to mention that the ash is finer and its easier to ash the bowl through into the bong.

I always rip apart nugs so they burn better so I don't see any reason why that would be worse than buying a grinder.

pipe/bubbly: when it should be cherried but is no longer cherried due to everything good being burned to ash.
